A place of faith, community, and living history in the heart of Nova Scotia's Cumberland County — where every stone tells a story.
For over two centuries, Allenville Church & Cemetery has stood as a cornerstone of spiritual life and cultural memory in the Parrsboro region.
Rooted in a tradition of worship and spiritual fellowship, we honour the faith of those who built this community of believers on the shores of Nova Scotia.
From seasonal gatherings to heritage events, we bring people together — fostering belonging, neighborship, and pride in the Allenville & Parrsboro area.
As stewards of a historic site dating to the early 1800s, we preserve records, restore structures, and educate future generations about our shared past.
Nestled along the gentle hills overlooking the Bay of Fundy, Allenville Church & Cemetery has been a place of gathering, worship, and remembrance since the early nineteenth century. The church was established by the pioneering families of the Allenville settlement in Parrsboro, Cumberland County, as a centre of faith and communal life on the rugged Nova Scotia frontier.
Today, as a registered Canadian nonprofit (CRA Registry ID: 806893434RR0001), we continue that mission — maintaining the historic church building, caring for the cemetery grounds, and preserving the irreplaceable genealogical and cultural records entrusted to us.
Our work is carried out by a dedicated team of volunteers and community members who share a deep commitment to the heritage of this remarkable place.
"The church is not merely a building — it is a living record of the families who shaped this land, their faith, their struggles, and their triumphs." — Allenville Church & Cemetery Heritage Committee
